Why do we need ISPs?

ISPs are responsible for creating and maintaining the network infrastructure, we need ISPs to connect to the internet.

Explain what a WEB HOST SERVICE is:

A web hosting service is a type of internet hosting service that allows individual and  h organizations to make their own website with their own specific domain name accessible via the World Wide Web.

If you want to publish a website on the internet you need a web host service.

For a fee, they store your website on their web server.

Its secure against hacking and also has enough bandwidth.

Web Architecture

World Wide Web: The World Wide Web otherwise known as www is a widely used system of Internet servers that uses Hypertext links (HTTP) to transfer specially formatted documents. This language that the computer understands also supports links to other documents such as graphics, audio and video files.

URL (universal, uniform resource locator: URL is one of the addressing systems used in the World Wide Web and other Internet Resources. The URL contains information about the method of access for example (HTTP, FTP, WWW), the server to be accessed and the path of any file to be accessed.

Domain Structure

The Domain Name of a website is the web address for that website for example www.GaryCollins.com, Google is the domain name. You have to check the Domain Name Registrar to check if your Domain name is available. If your Domain name of your choice is already taken you could change it to for example www.GaryCollins.co.uk. Domain names are divided into three different levels such as:

Top Level - This would be .uk

Second Level - This would be .co

Third Level - This would be GaryCollins
